From board design to prototype construction
ELAB is an electronics laboratory for students of Electrical Engineering at the Technical University of Aachen. In the ELAB, the students have many high-quality measuring devices, tools, a 3D printer and the LPKF ProtoMat E44 circuit board plotter at their disposal.
In a project work a student developed a new control electronics for the 3D printer. For the control of the printer temperature sensors, position switches, step motor drivers, servos and communication interfaces are required as well as heating elements, fans and voltage controlers. All these elements were designed as individual modules and milled with the LPKF E44 circuit board plotter.
